Currently available in iOs, Visit Malta’s official apps gives you all the info you need to explore the islands – whether you want to find out about a particular historical site or see what events are on this evening. The map is particularly helpful too. Download it here for iOs and check out the web version here.
This is another fantastic app to help you get to know Malta and Gozo, with lots of historical information on tap, as well as suggestions for restaurants, activities, maps and special offers. You can download it for Android here and iOs here.

If you plan to get around by bus, then the Tallinja app should be your first download of the trip. It tells you which the closest bus stop is, as well as which buses will be arriving in the next 30 minutes. You can download for Android here and iOs here.
MCA Malta Free WiFi
As it says on the tin, this app guides you to Malta’s free Wi-Fi spots, which is very useful if you’re out and about and urgently need to send an email or take a Skype call. There are 185 free WiFi Internet hotspots across Malta and Gozo that are available to the general public. You can download it for Android here.
The Un/Seen Evergreen
And for something completely different download this app, which takes a jaunt into virtual reality – a first for Malta. Although still in its infancy, this app will enable you to ‘see’ a tree in the St George’s Square – all you have to do is hold up your phone and it’s there! The project is set to grow, with more VR items popping up around Valletta in the near future. You can download it for Android here.
